Author Jill Peláez Baumgaertner

Jill Peláez Baumgaerter is Professor of English Emerita and former Dean of Humanities and Theological Studies at Wheaton College. She is the author of six poetry collections. Her most recent are What Cannot Be Fixed (Cascade, 2014) and From Shade to Shine (Paraclete, 2022). She also has edited two poetry anthologies:  Imago Dei: Poems from Christianity and Literature (Abilene Christian University Press, 2012) and this year’s Taking Root in the Heart: 34 Poets from the Christian Century (Paraclete Press, 2023). She has been a Fulbright scholar, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and is the winner of the White Eagle Coffee Store Press’s poetry chapbook contest, the Goodman Award, an Illinois Arts Council Award, and the Illinois Prize of the Rock River Poetry Contest.
